PTFE Gaskets
PTFE gaskets are sealing components made from polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), a high-performance synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene, they are commonly recognized by the brand name Teflon®, which is often used interchangeably with PTFE. The key characteristics of PTFE include chemical resistance, temperature stability, low friction, non-stick properties, electrical insulation, and FDA compliance.
PTFE gaskets are used to create a seal between two surfaces, preventing the leakage of fluids and gases. They find application in various industries, including chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, aerospace, and more. PTFE gaskets come in different forms, such as sheets, gasket tapes, and custom-cut shapes, and are employed for static and dynamic sealing applications. They are commonly used in flange joints, pipe connections, and other area where a reliable, chemical-resistant seal is essential.
