Style 5100H – Hinge

Style 5100H hinge rubber expansion joint is engineered to facilitate and isolate angular rotation in one plane. The configuration includes one set of two hinge plates linked by pins and attached to the expansion joint's external or internal hardware. The assembly must be designed to withstand the system's internal pressure and thrust forces. These joints can be utilized either in sets of two or three to absorb large lateral movements in a single plane.

This optimally designed arrangement effectively absorbs significant axial thermal movements in adjacent piping runs. The spool-type bodies feature full rubber flanges, a high-grade leak-proof tube, multiple layers of high-strength tire cord, high tensile steel reinforcement, and a seamless cover. They are commonly employed when there are load limitations in the support structure or adjacent equipment. The economic advantages of this configuration include a smaller system footprint with significantly fewer anchors and guides.
