Style 5100G - Gimbal
Product Type:The Style 5100G gimbal rubber expansion joint is designed to facilitate and isolate angular rotation across two planes. The configuration includes two sets of hinge plates linked by pins to a common gimbal ring which is attached to the joint's external or internal hardware. The gimbal assembly must be designed to withstand the system's internal pressure and thrust forces. These joints can be utilized either in pairs or in pairs with a single hinge design to accommodate significant lateral movements across multiple planes.
This optimally designed arrangement effectively absorbs significant axial thermal movements in adjacent piping runs. The spool-type bodies feature full rubber flanges, a high-grade leak-proof tube, multiple layers of high-strength tire cord, high tensile steel reinforcement, and a seamless cover. They are commonly employed when there are load limitations in the support structure or adjacent equipment. The economic advantages of this configuration include a smaller system footprint with significantly fewer anchors and guides.
