Molded Rubber
Molded rubber seal products are precision-formed sealing components manufactured by shaping uncured rubber compounds within a mold under heat and pressure. Unlike extruded seals, which are produced in continuous lengths, molded seals are created as discrete, finished parts, allowing for highly complex geometries, tighter dimensional tolerances, and integrated design features.
The molding process—whether compression, transfer, or injection molding—produces seals with consistent quality, excellent repeatability, and the ability to incorporate intricate cross-sections, bonding to metal or plastic inserts, and specialized surface textures. Material selection, including EPDM, silicone, nitrile (NBR), neoprene, fluorocarbon (FKM), and natural rubber, is based on the application’s chemical exposure, temperature range, mechanical stress, and environmental conditions.
