Ring Type Joint Gaskets: RTJ

Lamons Ring Type Joint gaskets are available in two primary types: an oval cross-section (Style 377) and an octagonal cross-section (Style 388). These fundamental shapes are employed in pressures up to 10,000 psi. The dimensions are standardized and necessitate specially grooved flanges. 

While the octagonal cross-section offers higher sealing efficiency and is the preferred choice, only the oval cross-section is suitable for the old-style round bottom groove. The newer flat bottom groove design accommodates both oval and octagonal cross-sections.
