Leached Silica Fabrics
Product Type:Leached silica fabric is produced from glass fabric subjected to hem leaching, a purification process that eliminates impurities from the fabric. This procedure yields a fabric with a silica content exceeding 95% that's capable of withstanding operating temperatures of up to 1800°F/983°C.
Leached silica fabrics stand as the industry standard for welding cloth and light-duty, high-temperature industrial applications. These fabrics provide a cost-effective solution. While they offer temperature resistance, they may not match the durability of Maxsil®Tex silica fabrics. Nevertheless, leached silica excel in light-duty applications, one-time uses, or as welding cloth curtains. Manufactured from glass fabric and subsequently leached to achieve a minimum 95% silica content, these fabrics are not preshrunk. Consequently, they may shrink up to 13% in continuous high-temperature applications.
