Body

Nitrile (Buna-N, NBR) O-Rings

  • Most common, general-purpose elastomer
  • Good resistance to oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids, and water
  • Temperature range: approx. -40°C to +120°C (-40°F to +250°F)
  • Cost-effective and widely available

EPDM O-Rings

  • Excellent resistance to steam, hot water, weather, ozone, and brake fluids
  • Not suitable for petroleum-based oils and fuels
  • Temperature range: -50°C to +150°C (-60°F to +300°F)
  • FDA compounds

FKM / (VITON®) O-Rings (“A” Compound)

  • High chemical resistance, especially to fuels, solvents, and aggressive chemicals
  • Handles high temperatures: -20°C to +200°C (-5°F to +400°F)
  • Common in aerospace, automotive, and chemical industries
  • FDA compounds

Silicone O-Rings

  • Excellent flexibility and low-temperature performance
  • Good resistance to weather, ozone, and some chemicals
  • Not ideal for dynamic sealing with high friction
  • Temperature range: -60°C to +200°C (-75°F to +400°F)
  • FDA compounds

PTFE (Teflon®) O-Rings

  • Extremely resistant to chemicals, solvents, and high temperatures
  • Low friction and non-stick surface
  • Less elastic than rubber; often used with backup rings
  • Temperature range: -200°C to +260°C (-325°F to +500°F)
  • FDA compliant

FFKM (Perfluoroelastomer) O-Rings

  • Highest performance, premium material available with maximum chemical and heat resistance
  • Performs in extreme environments: aggressive chemicals, high vacuum, and plasma
  • Temperature range: up to +327°C (620°F) depending on grade.
  • Common in semiconductor, chemical processing, and aerospace
  • FDA compounds

Polyurethane (Urethane) O-rings

  • Outstanding abrasion resistance and good tensile strength
  • Excellent resistance to mineral based oils, petroleum products
  • Temperature range: -52° C to +106°C (-60° to +225°F)
  • General Hydraulic and PneumaƟc cylinders

Neoprene (Chloroprene, CR) O-rings

  • Commonly used in refrigerant applicaƟons (Freons and ammonia)
  • Moderate resistance to petroleum oils, ozone, UV, and sunlight
  • Temperature range: -43°C to +120°C (-45°F to +250°F)
  • Low compression set, good recovery, and abrasion resistance

AFLAS® (TFE/P) O-rings

  • Recommended for most acids, solvents, halogenated hydrocarbons
  • Excellent in petroleum oils, amines, bases and steam
  • Temperature range: 0°C to +232C (32°F to +450°F)
  • Excellent permeaƟon resistance

Fluorosilicone O-rings

  • Wide temperature range, used in jet fuel, some chlorinate solvents, and petroleum oils
  • Common aerospace material and many automoƟve compliant compounds.
  • Temperature range: -63°C to + 175°C (-80°F to + 350°F)

PTFE Encapsulated O-rings

  • Encapsulated O-rings combine the chemical resistance and extreme-temperature performance of FEP or PFA with the elasƟcity of silicone, or FKM o-ring energizers. The exterior jacket, typically made of FEP, PFA, or PTFE, provides excellent chemical resistance, low compression set, and wide operaƟng temperature ranges, with FEP rated from -420°F to 400°F and PFA from -420°F to 500°F. The inside energizer provides enhanced resilience and sealing performance in cryogenic or dynamic applicaƟons. Silicone ensures cold flexibility, FKM delivers quick shape recovery with outstanding compression set.
  • Outstanding chemical resistance
  • High pressure capability with non-sƟck and low fricƟon characterisƟcs
  • FDA compliant
